Strongholds Fall

The sunset breaks through the open window curtains, settling on the orange walls, glowing with fire. It's a tired day--one for chocolate, naps, thinking, hoping, tired hearts, fuzzy socks, and stuffy noses. Writing is put aside, for the sake of pain, as I lay on clean sheets, allowing letters, numbers, memories, aches, words to pour in and out of my mind.
The sun hits my face, and my closed eyes see light. They open to a dream-like world, where beams dance on eyelashes, and space is quiet.

One day you'll open your eyes and not be afraid anymore.

Because swords are drawn, strongholds fall. There is a name greater than fear. Love is terror's conqueror, anxiety must bow. Shields are up, Christ has risen. Our battles are won before they even begin.

"For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"
1 John 5:4-5

"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
2 Timothy 1:7
