Inspired by You

Seas of languages, acres of cultures, friends, and romances blur over my head in a whirl of informational foam. You’re a sparkle in the mist, you make my face break out in sunshine. You don’t scream sun and glitter. You came to me humble and simple in spirit, not proclaiming any great feat or accomplishment, merely proclaiming yourself. You never told me how enormous a triumph it is to be you.
There are few inspiring in this tide of perfection. Curled hair, big jewelry, and seamless complexions—‘tis only one life, will soon be passed; only what’s done for Christ will last.

You inspire me.

Tough—like leather and sand, soft—like daisies in the wind. You’re a fighter, a warrior, a gem. No one handed you life, you battled for it, grappled with it, bloody and sweating and wheezing and killing. Here you are, still living.  They injured, but you stood. They dealt their hardest, but you didn’t break. Of all the beautiful faces to inspire in this world, I’m inspired by your beautiful heart.
